Ionela Blaj
Ionela Blaj was born in Romania, studied Art and Design at Cluj-Napoca Academy, attended the “Belle Arti Pietro Vannucci” Academy in Perugia and spent several trainings and working periods in Italy. Currently, she is at MECC artist residence in Caprarola. She exhibits her work in Romania and abroad.
Ado Brandimarte
Ado Brandimarte is a sculptor from Ascoli Piceno, he is teaching “pottering and forming technics” and has made various monuments such as “Monumento alle vittime del terremoto di Accumoli” (Monument to victims of Accumoli earthquake) in travertine. He founded the “Gate artistic project” and his art was on display at Ipogeo MateraSum (2019), Kauno Rajono Muziejus in Kaunas (2017) and at Birzai Castle in Vilnus (2017). Martina Lolli, Claudia Fiasca and Antonio G. Benemia have written about him.
Stephen Carter
Stephen Carter is a London-based artist whose work mainly focuses on painting and drawing and, he concentrates on places and areas less pleasing than urban areas. His art oscillates between abstract and figurative, between imaginary and reality. Through the creative act he tries to make visitors put up with what cannot be stomached. His artwork is part of the collections in United Kingdom, United States of America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Stephen Carter is represented by Beardsmore Gallery in London.
Liz Castelletti
Liz Castelletti was born in Bulgaria and graduated from Teramo arts high school; she is about to graduate in sculpture at Academy of Fine Arts in Macerata and has participated in several exhibition such as Adriatic Sea in Macerata and Cetjnie in Montenegro.
Alessia Galassi
Alessia Galassi was born in the province of Macerata in Recanati where she lives and studies. She graduated in painting at Academy of Fine Arts in Macerata and she is currently attending the second two-year decoration course. She displays her paintings in various exhibitions including A Più Voci in Macerata, Accrohage in Liegi and Honestly in Manchester. She shows her artwork and installations related to themes regarding contemporary society.
Mădălin Ciucă
Mădălin Ciucă was born in Romania yet he is a citizen of Europe, in fact he is polyglot and lives in Italy, Germany and Romania. He attended the Art and Design university in Cluj-Napoca under the direction of professor Ian Sbârciu. He is dedicated to art figurative and works on commission to draw a lot of pieces of portraiture. He has been awarded various times, including In Opera 2010 award, in Palazzo Bonaccorsi in Macerta and in 2012 Chi ha puara dell’Uomo nero? La vita a colori at Palazzo Vecchio, Florence. Currently, he is specialising at Brera Academy of Milan. He exhibits his art both in Romania and abroad.
Bogdan Drancă
Bogdan Drancă was born in Romania, studied at Arts and Design University in Cluj-Napoca and continued to specialise in graphic arts and sculpting. He currently lives in IL MECC artist residency in Caprarola. He exhibits his work in Romania and abroad.
Francesco Gioacchini
Francesco Gioacchini is an Italian artist living and working in Berlin. In 2011 he graduated in Editorial communication at University of Macerata, attended the University of Ramón Llull in Barcelona, the Slade School of Fine Arts in London and worked for Christo the artist to set up The Floating Piers on Iseo Lake. He earned a master’s degree in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Macerata and part of his thesis, entitled Glenn Ligon-Border Thoughts, was published in a series of articles on art called Critical Grounds. He exhibits in Italy and Germany; his work is published in art catalogues, and magazines and on websites such as Arte, Juliet art magazine, exibart.com, rivistasegno.eu and arshake.com.
Milica Jankovic
Milica Jankovic is an artist living and working between Montenegro, Italy and Finland. She specialised in Graphic at Fine Arts school in Montenegro. After finishing the master of arts semester at Art University in Vilnus she took part in a group show and organised a solo exhibition at Malunu5 gallery for the Vilnius Cultural Night Programme. In Macerata, she created the scenography for the concert of contemporary music Strumenti umani (human instruments) and she took part in a group show. Her work was published on the Canadian art magazine Emboss and since 2016 it is part of the Imago collection. She shows her work in various gallery including TRUart Gallery, in Canada Contemporary Arts Centre in Montenegro and GABA.Young in Macerata. She joined an artistic residency in Sichuan, China, and she exhibits her work in various group shows in Beijing Jingcheng and Leshan. Since 2012, she has been a member of the Association of artists of Montenegro.
Teresa Marasca
Teresa Marasca lives and works in Macerata where she teaches Artistic Anatomy, Drawing, Morphology and Iconography at Academy of Fine Arts of Macerata, and she is also the academic coordinator of Erasmus Project since 2001. She has been responsible for artistic research in the field of Painting and Artistic Installations since 1980’s and has been taking part in Venice Biennalesince 1982. Moreover, she has participated in innumerable exhibitions including Malta International Biennale, National Museum of China (Tienanmen Square) in Beijing, University of Fine Arts of Salford in United Kingdome, Arts and Designing Academy in Cluj-Napoca in Romania, Cultural Centre Virta in Finland and “Palazzo degli Scalzi” in Sassoferrato.
Mirjana Milenkoska
Mirjana Milenkoska was born in Prilep in Northern Macedonia. She arrived in Italy during the Balkan Wars and started her education. After graduating in Law she decided to turn her professional interest elsewhere. She sorts of use visual art as the quickest way to create order in mess or perhaps she wants to disorganise an apparent order. She began her painting studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Macerata and she has participated in numerous group exhibitions and two solo display.
Alessandra Morosetti
Alessandra Morosetti was born in Senigallia, lives and works in Marche where she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Macerata. Her research focuses on the relationship and conflict between nature and human being through sculpture and botany. Her work tries to make people aware of the rights of other living beings. The artist tries to build a relationship making people understand that our diversity is not a sign of incompleteness but rather we should be thankful for this diversity which makes us lasting in time.
Iacopo Pinelli
Iacopo Pinelli was born in Gavardo, and lives and works in Potenza Picena. He graduated in Decoration from the Academy of Fine Arts in Macerata. Since 2014, he has been taking part in many group and solo exhibitions including the following: home sweet home, Davide Paludetto Contemporary Art, in Turin; Men only man simply man, in Macerata; Undergrowth, in Cluj-Napoca Art Museum; Italy educational pavilion, in Venice and Biennial of Genoa, Satura art gallery.
Salvatore Ramaglia
Salvatore Ramaglia, born in Neapolis and grew up in Rome, has been living and Worked in Macerata for some years. In the 1980’s he attended the Basic Design of Illustration at the European Institute of Design in Rome, participated in the Orvietani Seminars and attended the engraving course at National Chalcography of Rome. He is currently attending the Painting course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Macerata. The latest work is Nostos, a large-format interactive work based on the journey par excellence. Ulysses’s one, in which people are invited to complete it with coloured post-it notes on which they write sentences from Homer’s Odyssey. Raitre, Radiodue, La Repubblica, Il Messaggero, Time, Le Matin (Lausanne), European, Amica, Il Resto del Carlino, Il Corriere Adriatico, as well as various local periodicals have written and spoken about him.
Elena Salvatelli
Elena Salvatelli was born in Macerata and graduated in architecture at the U. Preziotti Art School in Fermo, later attended an Interior Design course at the Academy of Luxury of Macerata, then she enrolled in the sculpture course at the Academy of Fine Arts of the same city. She has taken part in several exhibitions including VeregraLab, “Condens (Me)2” in Montegranaro, GateArtisticProgect, “GATE47” in Macerata, GateArtiticProgect and “GATE21” in Potenza Picena.
Maria-Laura Şonfălean
Maria-Laura Şonfălean was born in Romania and graduated from the painting department of Arts and Design University of Cluj-Napoca. She spent a semester in Rome at the Romanian Academy and today she is a PhD student at the University of Arts and Design in Cluj. She exhibits in Romania and abroad.
Veronika Weidauer
Veronika Weidauer was born in West Berlin and until the fall of the Wall she lives in Kreuzberg, the neighbourhood bordering the Wall mainly inhabited by immigrants. She studied Art at Ecole Municipale des Beaux-Arts in Avignon, and Classical Archaeology and Library Science in Berlin. She is currently working in her studio in Mitte-Moabit neighbourhood in Berlin where she paints, creates objects, makes performances and writes short stories under the pseudonym Aki Norev. She displays her work in Germany and abroad.
